Symbols are everywhere, in both our waking and dreaming lives. In this two-week Dreamwork bite-size class, we will explore some of the ways we can find meaning in our dreams. Rather than being a class that focuses on dream theory, we will work with our dreams themselves. We will explore what they may be trying to tell us and how that symbolism may lead to aha moments and self-realizations.
“Asleep and dreaming we are in pursuit of freedom in those areas that have eluded us while awake. The relationship between freedom and truth is the driving force of our dreams” - Montague Ultman
To accomplish this new understanding, we will use group exercises, a discussion forum, journaling, and a virtual gathering. Because of the nature of this work, there will be one Zoom call per-week on Mondays at 5:00 PM (PDT) where we can connect and work together. Depending on the size of the class, not everyone will get to share a dream on the Zoom call in a given week, nor does everyone need to. However, even if it is not your dream that we are exploring, you will find insight. Furthermore, one of the approaches to dream interpretation we will be using has us look at how someone else’s dream applies to each of our lives. This class is intended to be one of self-exploration and connection others as we unpack the stories that we tell while we engage with the dream time.
