Research suggests that utilizing meditation as a tool for the cultivation of self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-transcendence can be a key component in generating increased potential for resilience and vitality. Dr. Katherine Coder will be your meditation guide as you move through this 8 week, online, interactive course. 

 

Instructor Bio: Dr. Katherine Coder is a transpersonal psychologist who spends her time both teaching and counseling in her private practice. She began studying meditation 20 years ago and has studied various styles of meditation over these years. She is a registered psychotherapist in Colorado and a licensed doctor of pastoral science and medicine. She offers both psychotherapy and spiritual guidance in her private practice and has worked with many groups over the years through non-profit organizations, retreats, and year-long practice programs. Violence Prevention - Action and Awareness

Where: Online/Virtual

This course provides a multidisciplinary overview of the identification and management of situations/events within the continuum of violence that can occur on campus, in the workplace, and other public spaces. Students will learn how to recognize, report and defuse situations involving campus/workplace bullying, harassment, and violence.

Additionally, this course will provide guidelines for cultivating situational awareness and risk assessment in order to mitigate or effectively respond in the event of extreme violence. Survival strategies, basic first aid, and practices for cultivating resilience are also part of this course. Certificates will be issued for successful completion of sections covered.

This course is offered in affiliation with Casa Loma College - CEU's are available upon request.  This is an 8-week course, entirely online.

Introduction to Herbal Medicine

This introductory course is for people with little or no herbal experience who want to explore the world of herbs and herbal remedies. This course will introduce you to some of the tried and true herb companions, as well as create a framework for understanding how herbs work and how to select and prepare them for maximum benefit. Get into the kitchen and practice whipping up some herbal teas, tinctures, and body care products.

Research suggests that cultivating a diversity of resources and strategies for health enhances an individual's potential for resilience. This introductory course is for people with little or no herbal experience who want to explore the world of herbs and herbal remedies as a means of cultivating higher levels of personal resilience.

Through videos, web conferencing, and active discussion, this course will introduce you to some of the tried and true herb companions, as well as create a framework for understanding how herbs work and how to select and prepare them for maximum benefit. Together we will get into the kitchen and practice whipping up some herbal teas, tinctures, and body care products for your health and well-being. 

This instructor-led and interactive course is 8 weeks in length and entirely online.
