Embracing the Chaos - Disruption as a Catalyst for Personal Awakening

Emergence of vision begins first with major disruption to one’s personal, social, familial, or work life. Experiencing a disruptor, though difficult, often potentializes personal discovery and gives meaning and purpose to a personal change process. Disrupters temporarily destabilize routines, grab attention, instigate inquiry, and motivate decisions.

This 4-week bite-sized resource is one small portion from the course Behavioral Processes for Cultivating Resilience & Well-Being from our upcoming Integrative Health program. The first phase of cultivating resilience and wellbeing, from a personalizing wellness perspective begins with disruption. By exploring the disruption individuals are experiencing in their lives, they will engage the first part of this change process. This is an experiential course, one in which individuals will actively engage in a process of self-discovery, useable in cultivating resilience and well-being.

Instructor Biography: This course was designed by Kari Allen-Hammer, Ph.D. and is based on the work of a four-year graduate research process conducted as part of doctoral dissertation. The material for the course is based on just one small portion of her discovery. Dr. Kari Allen-Hammer will facilitate this bite-sized course and you will get specific and specialized support & instruction geared toward your needs while also being guided through a process that is based on an inductive, emergent, research process on the process of disruption as a catalyst for personal awakening.

dreaming deep sm

Symbols are everywhere, in both our waking and dreaming lives. In this two-week Dreamwork bite-size class, we will explore some of the ways we can find meaning in our dreams. Rather than being a class that focuses on dream theory, we will work with our dreams themselves. We will explore what they may be trying to tell us and how that symbolism may lead to aha moments and self-realizations.

“Asleep and dreaming we are in pursuit of freedom in those areas that have eluded us while awake. The relationship between freedom and truth is the driving force of our dreams” - Montague Ultman

To accomplish this new understanding, we will use group exercises, a discussion forum, journaling, and a virtual gathering. Because of the nature of this work, there will be one Zoom call per-week on Mondays at 5:00 PM (PDT) where we can connect and work together. Depending on the size of the class, not everyone will get to share a dream on the Zoom call in a given week, nor does everyone need to. However, even if it is not your dream that we are exploring, you will find insight. Furthermore, one of the approaches to dream interpretation we will be using has us look at how someone else’s dream applies to each of our lives. This class is intended to be one of self-exploration and connection others as we unpack the stories that we tell while we engage with the dream time.

Instructor: Dr. Laura Tadd works as a psychological astrologer, educator, and writer. She holds an MA and PhD in Human Science. As in internationally known astrologer, Laura works in a consulting capacity with people around the world. She teaches and lectures on astrology and related disciplines both in-person and online.
